Digital Audio
The goal of the Digital Audio course is to teach participants to use the computer as a multimedia device. The skills they gain enable them to locate and enjoy music on the Internet, create their own digital music, and explore the possibilities of using the computer as a recording studio. The course is divided into three modules:

Introduction to Digital Audio
In this module, participants discover how the computer can be used as a multimedia device. They learn to explore the Internet to find, play and download free music on web radio stations and programs such as Winamp.

Create Music with FruityLoops
Participants are introduced to the FruityLoops program to create their own music. After learning about music concepts and techniques, participants compose music loops, save loops in an MP3 playable format, and export music files to an MP3 player.

Record a Song Using Cool Edit 2000
In this module, participants run a multitrack virtual recording studio on the computer using the Cool Edit 2000 program. Participants make a final project by adding the music they created in Create Music with Fruity Loops and vocals to a new song. The final projects are saved and played as MP3 recordings.
