Web Publishing
In this introductory course, participants create Web pages and acquire the skills necessary to publish a Web site. As a result of this training, participants will have the prerequisite knowledge required for a career in Web Design. This course is taught in five modules:
 
Basic Web Pages
In this module, participants use a Web browser to view Web page source codes, create a personal Web page in HTML, and use Macromedia Dreamweaver to view and edit a personal Web pages.
 
Page and Text Options
Through the exercises in this module, participants change the color of selected text, background color and the default color on their Web pages. They also practice HTML coding, import Microsoft Word documents into Dreamweaver and format text.
 
Images and Links
Participants learn to insert an image and to use images as links on their Web pages. They also insert links as text.
 
Web Sites
In this module, participants create home pages and additional second-level pages. They also create a navigation bar with links to the homepage and second-level pages, obtain a free Web hosting service and use Dreamweaver to publish their Web sites.
 
Tables
Participants learn to use tables to add a text navigation bar to each of the second-level pages and to insert images and text. They also import a Microsoft Word table and show the information in HTML tables.
 
Prerequisites
Computer Fundamentals or equivalent experience
Using the Internet or equivalent experience
